Shell benefits from technical development of young people. Process engineering is wrongly a ‘forgotten’ work field. Shell asked BrandBase to get attention again for the educational program process engineering.

Solution

The Chocolate Challenge. The interactive roadshow about process engineering for secondary students from the second and third year. With this program young people meet the profession of process operator in a playful and exciting way. The students got a lesson of 100 minutes from a young process operator of Shell Pernis or Moerdijk on their own school.
First a piece of theory was taught, after that student were invited to get to work themselves in the ‘Factory of Tasting’. The aim: divide two colors of chocolate, in a huge amount, as fast and accurately as possible. The Chocolate Challange was officially launched by the general manager of Shell Pernis, Shell Moerdijk, the director of C3 and the students of the Calvijn College Rotterdam.
